FILMMAKER  TRACK

Enrollment is limited to ensure a focused and supportive learning experience.

WHAT STUDENTS WILL EXPERIENCE

The Filmmaker Track immerses students in the creation and collaborative process of making short films.  Students explore the roles of writer, director, cinematographer, and editor to get a comprehensive introduction to filmmaking.

Saturday, August 1st - FINAL SCREENING at the Randolph Playhouse Movie Theater.

A TYPICAL DAY AT VTFMA

Monday–Friday
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM:

Directing, camera instruction, story development, shot planning, editing concepts, and production preparation
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Lunch
1:00 PM – 4:30 PM:

Hands-on crew work, rehearsals, filming, editing, project collaboration, and showcase preparation.

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR

SAMUEL LaPOINTE - Filmmaking

Samuel is a Central Vermont filmmaker and educator who teaches high school students pursuing careers in Digital Media Arts. His award-winning short film, "We Could Be Nemeses" won the Made Here Film Festival Audience Award for Best Film. Sam brings both professional filmmaking experience and a passion for mentorship to the Vermont Filmmaker Academy.

TUITION:  $1,000
